Cons
- Politics between teams is at an all time high. A lot of infighting and endless meetings where nothing is accomplished. - Meetings fatigue is real. So many meetings, and meetings to plan more meetings. Most of them are unnecessary. - Several managers I worked with were well underqualified and unfit to lead their own teams. Micro-managing, constant stratus tracking, and process overkill without adding much if any real value. - Managers are under so much pressure to appear that their teams are in order at the cost of concerning themselves more with managing up than actually supporting and listening to their own teams. - The values of integrity and transparency were once at the forefront of the company culture. Sadly, this is no longer the case. - A lot of churn in C-Suite and executive leadership teams, they seem to come and go on a regular basis. - Knowledge gaps everywhere. Many experts and Okta veterans have left the organization, which has created huge voids within teams. - The fixation on constant growth over the years has resulted in too many hires, resulting in layoffs and annual company restructures - The stock price consistently low and underperforming.
