Pros

I've worked for Nyla for almost 5 years and this is truly a company that puts their employees first. The employee benefits get better each year ( 10% 401k match, generous and flexible paid time off and an annual professional development budget). On my anniversary this year, I get 5 extra anniversary PTO days and a VACATION! The company's emphasis on philanthropy is especially important to me. The company not only gives 8 hours paid each year to volunteer but hosts several events throughout the year I can have my family participate in.

Cons

Many employees work in distributed teams but the company has implemented several new tools over the past few years to keep us informed and engaged virtually. I especially love our fun weekly newletter!

Pros

- cutting edge enterprise DoD data science work - high pay - leadership are good people

Cons

- Typical DoD bureaucracy challenges - Onboarding to contracts can be difficult where other Nyla folks are not also on your contract - Feel distanced from other Nyla employees at times due to remote work and folks living across multiple states

Pros

They will attempt to put you on another contract if you’re a high performer. HR was friendly

Cons

Compensation was lower than the market. Leadership refused to fix it even when they admitted it. What bothered me most: my original offer letter contained no clawback or training-repayment terms. Months into employment, we were required to sign a lengthy employee handbook and a second policy document. A training-funds clawback clause was tucked inside. When I resigned, they used that later-added clause to try to recover training money that had been authorized and paid in writing earlier.
