Pros

· Innovation-forward company · Good flexibility through the pandemic · Nice HQ offices · Great culture & branding in an industry without much culture & branding · Good transparency & exposure to the end-users and operating rooms · Years ago, the employee onboarding training was serious & respected

Cons

· Very sales-heavy · High turnover in many departments (recruiting, marketing) · Behind in robotics, the market's favorite technology "We don’t need to get in and do a slash and burn to make this work. It works pretty easily, and while we will look at some synergies that will naturally occur, this is not a high-risk project." "As we've said before, this is not a slash-and-burn exercise. The acquisition payback is not driven by deep spending cuts, and we're not racing to impress the market with a quarterly flash. We remain focused on long-term sustained growth and not making cuts that impact our strengths." These are Dan Scavilla's words about the future of the company in 2023 before the acquisition. In January, 157 employees were cut at the NuVasive HQ in San Diego, not including contractors whose contracts weren't renewed and other engineers in locations like Colorado.
