Good work-life balance but low salary - Senior Staff Engineer - Electronic Design Nordic Semiconductor Employee Review

Nordic is a great company to work for. They offer a competitive salary + benefits for the Portland, OR area. They're managed in a very flat level structure with no barriers on communication, from junior engineer to CEO. They offer opportunities to visit headquarters overseas (in Trondheim, Norway) and also have a strong policy to support continued learning. Each employee gets a generous education budget, from attending conferences to buying courses or books. One thing I also value is their flexibility when it comes to work-life balance. In my experience, they have been very understanding with family matters and time off in general. I have heard my manager say on several occasions after finishing long project to take some time and unwind before jumping onto the next thing. That has not been my experience in all my roles, so I value it when managers recognize the possibility of burnout and are actively looking to avoid it.

With some projects, the structure could be tighter when it comes to planning projects and keeping deadlines.
