Pros

I really enjoyed my time at Noetic, and was given the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. I was able to gain a broad range of skills and experiences, and had many opportunities to work in fields outside of my own. Given the size of the company, I also had to learn to be flexible and become accustomed to working outside my comfort zone at times, skills which I deem to be invaluable. One of the best parts of working with Noetic was the people- everyone was highly professional, intelligent and friendly, and collaboration was core to how the company operated. Noetic was a very supportive team that also afforded me a relatively high level of autonomy, meaning I was constantly learning. I also found management open and supportive, and they were eager to get feedback on ways the company could improve internal processes and maintain a positive work environment. Another great part about the culture of Noetic was the absence of power games or the need for new recruits to "prove themselves", instead findingI that new employees were enthusiastically incorporated into the team from the start. As a rapidly growing company, there are some processes that are being ironed out to match the growth. However, overall, working at Noetic was an invaluable experience that significantly assisted in my professional development, and provided interesting opportunities within a friendly team.

Cons

Depending on the projects at the time, sometimes more junior, less specialised employees were required to work on projects that may have been a bit less interesting. However, I think this is no different from most other entry level jobs.

Pros

On the surface, employees have solid credentials and collaborative spirit.

Cons

Management severely lacks any leadership and tends to bait and switch new hires. The founders and managers focus on how to better themselves in the short term rather than what is beneficial to the long term health of the company. In some instances this included flat out misrepresentation to clients and company partners. If a senior manager is not physically in the office it's nearly impossible to communicate with them. I expect to be able to get in touch with company decision makers around the clock. If a manager is on holiday (often for weeks at a time) all emails and phone messages are met with radio silence. This is unacceptable in 2017, especially from a consultancy firm. I would be surprised if the company survives through 2020.
