Pros

Great company with tons of drive. I have never worked with so many dedicated and passionate people. Everyone is an expert at what they do, but there are still no egos. There is tons of trust in the employees and you are empowered to make decisions without the hand holding. Even though we are a distributed company, everyone is still really close. I would highly recommend NodeSource to anyone.

Cons

None. There isn't anything I don't like about my job/company. As others have said, working remotely isn't a positive for everyone.

Pros

Everyone is spread across the globe but we feel like a really connected team. We get to build an amazing product that helps our customers solve difficult challenges and we get to help the open-source community as well.

Cons

wish we could see each other in person more often

Pros

Most of the team is accustomed to working remotely and asynchronously. Being able to turn off all notifications, without fear of reprimand, and work for a solid chunk of time without distraction is a great performance booster and sanity saver. My immediate co-workers and manager are all intelligent and level headed. Disagreements we have about the architecture or implementation details are usually worked out quickly, and any arguments had during that time don't trail with us into other interactions. The work is interesting and innovative. NodeSource is bringing products to the market that don't yet exist for Node.js. Which requires being the one to solve how to do so along the way.

Cons

We're not only a new company but also entering an emerging market. Because of this we're still figuring out what it is companies are looking for. Requiring those companies to know what they want and what they actually need (which can be very different). Leading to the development of some excellent software, but in the end not being used by anyone.
