Pros

You get to impress people by telling them who you work for.

Cons

The company declares a mission towards fairness and objectivity but plays favorites and creates a crony culture for advancement. There is no understanding of what diversity and equity means as a whole and subscribe to the motto of “without fear or favor” when it comes to everyone but their own. The gray lady is so long in the tooth it makes and elephants tusk look like an infants first tooth. And you will be teething your entire time there. Their concept of objectivity is archaic and dangerous for the era we live in and it makes the fourth estate as impotent as the others have proven to be. If democracy dies in darkness, an informed public dies from cowardice.

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
