Pros
When it comes to recruitment, it can be quite daunting, especially for people like myself who are looking to break into the industry with no prior experience. Coming from an events and D2D sales background, the difference is huge. The biggest pro to Navartis is the internal training. I've been here a year now, and still have frequent sessions with the L&D department. When you start out, a day per week is spent on the process as a whole. This is extremely helpful as it lays out what a hiring process looks like end to end, and how as a consultant we can manage this best. This is integrated into your day to day work and really helps you grow quickly. Another reason Navartis is fantastic, is the autonomy you get as a consultant. Having input on areas of the process like commercials etc. This is fantastic as it helps you grow skills outside the resourcing side of things. When speaking to peers at other companies in the industry, this can only be decided by senior people and you have little to no input as a consultant. Lastly, Navartis as a business really looks after there people and wants the best for them. Recruitment as an industry has a reputation for been cut-throat. This is of course the case as in any sales role, however it's managed really well and clearly, meaning everyone gets the best out of it!
Cons
One con, which is unavoidable is just recruitment itself. Coming from a sales background where you go from prospecting to converting in 30 minutes, to a 3 month + process in some cases, can be difficult to get your head round quickly. I believe Navartis' combat this well, by giving you the time to build a desk and not having immense pressures on you from day 1. Another point, is that it can be quite defeating at times. Essentially, you're building your own business within a business. With this comes clients that tell you have an urgent requirement then ghost you for weeks, or you get through a process with a candidate and they withdraw at the last hurdle. A lot of the time, it is things out of your control. I've personally learnt to only let things i can control bother me, and that is what eliminates this.
