Pros
Cafeteria is not too bad.
Cons
Absolutely a terrible work environment. There were new executives and they were completely lost in this area. Kept piling on underwriters and case managers, spending money and eventually lost the leader of underwriting to a competitor. There was not any open dialogue going on, so forget about discussions, disagreements were frowned upon. Everybody talked behind each other. Most of the work is transactional, so it is not challenging or interesting. Most work can all be automated but there is a huge fight between IT and business units across Nationwide. There is very little self service for life insurance and annuity products. It acts as a backend processing unit for the sales organization. There is a small CI team with a smart manager that is underutilized.
