Pros
Wonderful cause, you get to work in an organization that overall intends to do a positive thing for families impacted by cancer.
Cons
1. Management is terrible: the ED needs to go. Retire, find something else to do. There is no confidence in the team they hire. Constant turnover due to her terrible management style. If you're into micromanagement, you've come to the right place. 2. Too much focus on insignificant things: too much time spent on wooing donors with fancy events and not enough time spent cultivating staff and new ideas. 3. Negative attitude overall: don't agree with the ED? Be prepared to be walked out. I have never worked at business or organization that treats it's employees the way this nfp does. Speaking negatively about employees behind their back. Making disparaging comments about volunteers and junior staff. Do yourself a favour and walk away. The opportunity is not what it seems.
