Pros
Strong benefits and 401K. Culture of bringing in entry-level workers and creating space for them to work up into middle management. Great place to get started. Culture of people who care deeply about what they do, and take pride in their work.
Cons
No work life balance. Pressure to be available 24/7, emails from managers late at night or on the weekends that makes it feel as though it is hard to keep up. "Good old boy" culture of upper management. High turnover of middle and upper management - 5-8 years of service is a danger zone, most middle managers get politely separated in that time frame, usually taking the fall for upper management who eventually leave anyway. Only 1 or 2 employees other than the CEO and his wife there for more than 10 years, not counting the acquired companies.
