Pros
NextDC is a great company that's going places. There's never a dull moment and plenty to learn. The rapid expansion makes it an exciting place to work. There is great opportunities for training, either through the company or heavily discounted. Free coffee :) and offstreet parking. There are awesome people across all the teams making the best of the situation. Always someone around with a smile, and the quality of the end result for the customers is great despite of what is below. You can have a great sense of accomplishment with your work, seeing the results in realtime. Interaction with customers are great, good working relationships can be easily forged.
Cons
The company has an ingrained lack of care for their staff. They constantly attack the fruits of this culture and never the roots. For example in the last week there has been a blatant request (instruction?) for management to write reviews and to push staff to post reviews here and on seek (as seen by the two posts on the 11/3 the day the request was made). Rather than addressing the issues of staff on these sites they're attempting to alter the rating because it didn't stack up to what THEY consider the company to be performing as. Pay for the positions is definitely on the low end of the spectrum. Staff turnover is remarkably high, and there is virtually zero attempt to retain good people. The high staff turnover in turn leads to higher stress on those that remain as they're constantly training new people. HR has highly questionable effectiveness. For example a blatantly abusive manager was left to continue for an excessive amount of time, and higher management did their best to protect that manager even with dozens of incidents and reports from both staff and customers. There is virtually no social circles or culture unless you make it happen yourself.
