Pros
Good exposure to live infrastructure projects early on. Opportunity to gain hands-on experience quickly. Some knowledgeable individuals within the business
Cons
No real onboarding and lack of structured induction for new starters. High level of responsibility early on without sufficient support from management who would rather you get on without any fuss. Role expectations, particularly around site presence and travel, not clearly defined at interview stage despite being asked directly. Working across a geographically dispersed framework can be isolating, especially for someone new to the industry. Support functions felt reactive rather than proactive and site teams are a real bad bunch. Site teams generally under perform with a complete disregard to H&S and consciously avoid it just to get jobs finished. Very easily lead by sub - contractors. Top H&S management are quick to alienate sites if health and safety standards lack, the advisor is then expected to pick up the slack.
