Pros
- The work is mostly really fun. - My colleagues were mostly great. - Work is very varied and great for people who like interacting with others, as well as problem solving under pressure.
Cons
- The pay is really not that great for the amount of responsibility (you are in charge of the entire premises and customer experience, but not bookings or online management. Pay only scales with the amount of time working, not with the expansion of responsibility). - The hours can be quite unsocial (I'd sometimes clock out after midnight). - The schedule can be tight on busy days and unpredictable repairs under pressure are a part of the job. Personally this was quite satisfying, but I think most people would find it very stressful. - The company is small enough that there isn't really a formal system for internal feedback or discussion. Managerial decisions can sometimes feel intrusive and unilateral as a result. - The premises are in an a disused Tube station. Don't expect sunlight or fresh air while working.
