Pros
Fantastic benefits (choice of health/dental/vision, OPERS, tuition reimbursement, meaningful wellness programs, and so much more) Lots of opportunities to network among departments & work together meaningfully on projects. Colleagues who are always willing to share knowledge with one another for professional development and growth purposes. Supportive upper management that always tries to put its employees first, even though this can be difficult as a public hospital system. They really try their best.
Cons
As mentioned, there are certain pains that come with working in any public health system. We work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment where learning takes place each day and no two projects/cases/etc will be the same. Therefore, flexibility and adaptability are important to anyone interested in working for MetroHealth.
