Cons
I strongly urge fellow Nurse Practitioners to avoid employment with Mendota Health. My experience with this company was deeply disappointing and ethically concerning.
False Promises: During the interview process, I was assured of a steady patient load, defined territories, and support for advanced wound care. None of this was true. The company grossly misrepresented the nature of the role—there were minimal patients, and much of the “care” revolves around pushing skin substitutes rather than delivering evidence-based wound care.
Mendota Health prioritizes billing for expensive products over actual patient outcomes. Their business model is not wound care—it’s sales disguised as care. This is not only misleading but puts NPs in an ethically compromised position.
No Support or Fair Compensation: You will be expected to drive well beyond your assigned area, often hours away, with no additional compensation. When I voiced concerns, there was no effort to address them—instead, retaliation.
Job Insecurity: Perhaps most troubling, NPs are terminated without cause or warning. Decisions are made impulsively and without transparency. The lack of respect for providers is alarming.
In short, this is not a company that supports or values clinicians. If you are a skilled NP looking to practice with integrity, steer clear of Mendota Health.
