Pros

Not a lot. you get experience

Cons

This work environment is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Many of us felt like the managers were openly hostile and unapproachable. No one has talked about how bad it is to work here because most of us are to scared to. Pay was so low that many employees struggled to make ends meet. But we would have meetings where management bragged about how much the company was making. Very few benefits. I have never had a worse experience.

Hello Glassdoor community! Melanie Casey here! I have reason to believe that this is a false review, and not left by an actual prior employee. I personally conduct exit interviews and always discuss employee decisions to leave at length. This review simply does not align with the people that I know and care about who have left my team over the last few years. Every single team member who has left this company has contributed greatly during their time here and its something I truly appreciate. I am grateful to all of them, and their contributions are not forgotten simply because they are continuing on their journey. All of our current and former team members are sound writers and communicators. This is an important standard within our company culture, and this review is not reflective of that. The most common reason for employees to choose to leave is cultural fit. As a company that sells exclusively online, a significant portion of our staff is virtual. Accordingly, our culture revolves around virtual communication (ie we are more likely to send a chat than pick up the phone). Important meetings are often conducted via video conference, which for some does not suffice in the way an in-person conversation would. It has been a challenge to find the right balance of connection and community in this ever-changing digital world. If working autonomously and virtually isn’t a fit for you, the work can understandably feel isolating instead of energizing. For the right fit, the flexibility is freeing. To the point about the benefits, we offer an industry-leading employee benefits package to support the health and long-term growth of each team member. Our list of benefits continues to grow each year. Right now, our benefits include company-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance, sick and vacation paid time off, paid holidays, a matching contribution to a 401k plan, and professional development opportunities. We also offer silly (but awesome) things like a closet full of free snacks, paid lunch breaks, optional summer hours with Friday’s off, flexible work from home options, and we never require anyone to work on holidays. We have worked diligently in the last year to create a flatter organizational structure so that there are more teams with fewer people per team. We want everyone to have continual feedback from management, as well as an individual voice within the organization. We are working to clarify career paths so that our team members will know how to advance in the direction which best corresponds with their personal goals. Because we are a fast-paced start-up with rapid growth, there are always new opportunities. We talk often about goals and plan to do even more of this in the future. This includes discussing individual career goals, marketing goals, and yes – revenue goals. The entire team works together to make this company a success, and as a culture, we openly discuss where we are headed in the future.

Pros

Low pay, unprofessional, low educated "leaders". Small company, assume people to do multiple jobs.

Cons

Everything, very unprofessional, uneducated. The "leadership team" is a joke. They lack common sense knowledge.
