Pros

As a RVT we are able to do more then i could in GP, such as do a quick ultrasound of abdomen and bladder. Everyone is very open to help train you in the role and the instruments we have (BP monitor)

Cons

It is hard to tell clients that it will be a 4-6 or 6-8 hour wait... I completely understand where they are coming from when the client leaves. If my pet was stable I would not stay that long either. I do not get the Vets role and that they are at their computers a lot and not more hands on with the patients. I feel that every patient should get a quick flyby /exam from vet to get a better understanding of test we can run on the patient while they are waiting to have a complete exam. Or maybe have 2-3 vets on at all times.

Pros

The staff at the Commerce MedVet have been very supportive and helpful with teaching me the skills I was previously lacking. I got my first feline jugular blood draw and I was also given great tips about IV catheter placement.

Cons

I have no cons, the staff are very welcoming and if you want to learn they want to teach.
