Pros

Benefits, but you can find that working for any corporation (although they will deny being a ”corporation” tooth and nail)

Cons

At least in the LA hospitals the environment is TOXIC! It doesn’t matter which department you are in, someone is out to throw you under the bus... Work life balance? What’s that?

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and provide us with some feedback. It's great to hear that you were satisfied with your benefits as we work hard to offer an extensive package with many different options that can meet everyone’s needs. It is no secret that we are a growing organization that is veterinarian owned and operated and we are focused on living our mission, values, and purpose, day in and day out for our patients, clients, and team members. In fact, our CEO (Dr. Linda Lehmkuhl) has recently visited the Gulf Coast hospitals to discuss our vision and organizational growth with each and every employee. I'm not sure if you were able to attend that session but we got great feedback. Many of our competitors are owned by large companies and are NOT led medically. We're different. You get the upside of us being big enough to offer good benefits but still the upside of being an organization that is led by docs, owned by our team members, and not run by a big global company or private equity. A comment on culture. I reject your characterization of our culture as "toxic" and have data to back that up. While we are not perfect -- and never will be -- we work hard to be the best we can be and strive to be a great organization to work for. Our most recent survey shows that team members in your area are responding positively to our efforts as our engagement scores are trending up. We want to work with our employees to create a positive and collaborative work environment for everyone. If you had specific concerns, I hope you shared them with your CM, HR partner (whose main work location is in NOLA) or HD. We also are a culture that holds team members accountable. We can't deliver great medicine or have a strong culture if we allow folks who aren't taking accountability or who are acting in ways that run counter to our values to remain in our organization, even if they have long tenure. We know that having a work/life balance can be a tough task in a 24/7/365 business, but we are proud of our efforts to help everyone have lives outside of work. We give a very generous amount of PTO to our team members and our managers work to ensure all team members get their time off approved. Once again, thank you for your review and help building the New Orleans hospital over the past few years. We wish you the best.

Pros

The staff at the Commerce MedVet have been very supportive and helpful with teaching me the skills I was previously lacking. I got my first feline jugular blood draw and I was also given great tips about IV catheter placement.

Cons

I have no cons, the staff are very welcoming and if you want to learn they want to teach.
