Pros

I am a college student (2015) and I love working for Maverik. They took me in and trained me very well right from the beginning. My schedule has been flexible, management is very willing to work around my classes and other activities I have going on. The benefits are one of my favorite parts; I have health, dental, and vision coverage (it's limited, but it covers everything that I need) for about $50 per paycheck (biweekly), I've been able to get a good start on my 401(k) retirement plan, I can get my tuition and textbook cost reimbursed through Maverik (it does have a limit, but it covers everything that federal aid doesn't for me), and many more options that are available with the click of a mouse. I've been working with the company for a little over 6 months now and I love it. I started at $8.50/hr, and that's not likely to increase anytime soon unless I get a promotion, but I'll likely have to change store location in order to do that. In the end, I'm ok with that, because this is all I need right now.

Cons

I don't like having to commute. Even though you can find Maverik stations all over the place, it's difficult to find work at the one next door, even if you're transferring to another store as part of a move. I moved from Saratoga Springs, UT, to Rexburg, ID, for school. As the time was getting closer, I started looking into the stores up here to find one that would take my transfer. Even though there are three (3) stores in Rexburg, not a single one would take me. I had to look out of the town, and luckily another local store made room for me so I only have to commute twenty (20) minutes. However, it would have been nice if a store in my actual town had made room for me just like this one did.

Pros

Community and pay and knowing everyone and the feeling of being there for the community.

Cons

Constant changing of things that weren't broke, no backup by uppers, the stress of never having the hours needed to run the store so you have to work 16 hour days and get paid for a 40 hour work week and the insubordination
