Pros

Non-management employees are absolutely amazing! Some of the best people I've ever met and worked with.

Cons

- Schedule changes less than 24 hours before your shift and there is no communication. - Schedule is not updated digitally on the app - If someone calls into their shift you are expected to stay and work their shift. - Scheduling medical appointments is difficult, requests denied often - Your scheduling availability will not be respected. - You will be thrown into departments you were not hired for - Inconsistent company policy on shoplifting: an employee was fired for NOT chasing a shoplifter, and another employee was fired FOR chasing a shoplifter. - Overheard management speaking disparagingly about employees to each other in the office multiple times - Inconsistent management style across different managers - Passive communication from management

Pros

Marczyk Fine Foods has a strong reputation for quality products and customer service, and many of the employees genuinely care about the store and the customers. Coworkers were generally supportive and worked well together in a fast-paced retail environment. For people who enjoy specialty grocery and food culture, the work itself can be engaging and the store attracts a loyal customer base.

Cons

Communication and expectations from management could sometimes feel inconsistent. At times it was not always clear what priorities or standards were expected, which could make it difficult for employees to know how to improve or succeed in their roles. The pace can also be demanding, and staffing levels occasionally made it challenging to keep up with all responsibilities.
