Pros

Many of the team members I worked with seemed good-natured and were open to either taking suggestions or providing explanations. Some of the project managers were very efficient and on the ball, quickly giving feedback and answering questions. Methods for communication were well-established and convenient (Slack or Google Hangouts), making it easy to access whoever I needed. It was a casual atmosphere, so I could talk directly to almost anyone in the company if I really needed to. Snacks were freely available. Lunch was occasionally provided.

Cons

Decisions that had to go through management were sometimes deferred indefinitely, to the detriment of projects and timelines. Management would sometimes change its mind about major features in the middle of a project. None of the project managers I knew had coding experience. Maestro seemed to have a tendency to contract workers from other countries who had little idea what they were doing. This may have been an experimental phase in the company's growth, but these coworkers were difficult to collaborate with because of their lack of skills. There were also a couple of occasions where entry-level developers were put on large projects with "mentors", but no code-literate senior team members and little supervision. There are no performance reviews, possibly because management wants to bring up the salary subject as infrequently as possible.
