Dead conservative and stifling - Event Coordinator Mack Brooks Exhibitions Employee Review

Having worked in events for a long time before, I was shocked at the level of inflexibility and conservativeness of staff at any level. The workload given to individual employees varies widely - few work overtime constantly, while others are left to twiddle their thumbs all day. All these comments mention the "Germanic" work culture and how Germans are favoured, but I can tell you the company has nothing in common with how business in done in Germany. Micro-micro-micro managing managers are stifling and innovation and new ideas are looked down upon. If you like the motto "That's how we have always done it", this is the company for you. Promotions seem to be based solely on who managed to sit around the longest, not actual education, skills or achievements. Non-married women without kids virtually have not chance at advances, they want to see you tied done in some other way first before you get promoted.
