Pros
M. D. Anderson has excellent benefits. Furthermore, working with the departments and physicians is interesting and a wonderful opportunity for learning. M.D. Anderson does promote telecommuting from the Business Office.
Cons
M.D. Anderson has some of the worst managers I've ever worked with. Anyone who files a complaint or grievance is retaliated against and driven to resign. The managers with whom I worked did not know the jobs of those they managed and therefore created unrealistic production expectations. The pressure was to get the charges in even if they were incorrect. It is the most stressful place I have ever worked. It was not uncommon for the exempt employees to work 60 hours a week. There is a horrible work/life balance even though Anderson says it promotes work/life balance. The physicians and mid-level providers are wonderful to work with.
