Cons
The company experience varied significantly depending on the assigned project or client, and unfortunately, I found myself working on a project widely acknowledged as one of the least favorable. The project suffered from inadequate and ambiguous documentation, leading to a lack of clarity regarding its objectives. Task assignments resembled a mechanical process, expecting completion without a clear understanding of how each task contributed to the project as a whole. Involvement in architectural decision-making was minimal to nonexistent, extending to an inability to suggest improvements or actively contribute to the codebase. Grooming sessions prioritized estimating unclear tasks over refining comprehension, and seeking additional information was actively discouraged. The internal leadership at Lunatech for that project exhibited extremely toxic symptoms, marked by clear favoritism resulting in personal hostility for those not in the leader's favor. Additionally, the leader demonstrated limited proficiency in programming, adhering to outdated practices and providing nitpicky feedback with the sole purpose of finding something to criticize. Last but not least, despite the project purportedly using an agile methodology, it lacked essential deployment environments. In Agile methodologies, the expectation is to have accurate and swift feedback through deployment environments, facilitating rapid iteration and product improvement. Unfortunately, this project fell short by not providing such environments, hindering the ability to receive real feedback on contributions.
