Pros
- Good Projects + seemingly stable within the industry considering their plan and spread vs. other companies I've worked for (already been made redundant from multiple other studios' layoffs, often due to mismanagement and horrible financial decisions) - Friendly People and good attitude to work, everyone works hard and for anyone coming from a hard-core crunch or tight indie studio, there is often little need to "carry" the project by picking up the slack of less skilled staff, although this could be different project to project so try to research and reach out to workers. - Huge respect and push for personal health, time management and respectful management and leadership as long as you are willing to talk about it. HR has helped me a lot already with health circumstances. - Nice refurbished offices and a flexible hybrid or remote schedule (project dependant, you are well informed during the interview process what expectations will be) - Down to earth upper management - Bonuses and work events are pretty well structured, but don't make up much for low pay
Cons
- No set-in-stone, company wide career progression path with consistent goals for all, and promotions don't come with much pay respective of the position raise - Low pay, including a lower than realistic cost to relocate too. ^Although admittedly, outside of being in the industry 10+ years, the UK games industry across the board suffers from these flaws, especially vs. US/Canadian jobs
