Pros
I've worked at Lixar for over 2 years, and let me tell you, they do put on a good show. The office is brilliant with a modern industrial looks, beer on tap, two coffee machines, a ping pong table and so on, and you'll have enough free time to use them, and the projects do appear interesting. You won't despise anyone at the company, everyone is nice and friendly and even the CEO will go through the office and say hello to employees every once in a while. Although sometimes you will have to burn yourself out in overtime, the usual pace is reasonable. Very flexibile in terms of work hours and you can work from home all you want as long as you make the meetings on time and fulfill your responsibilities. If you want somewhere where work doesn't feel like your entire life, Lixar is the place to go.
Cons
The turnover rate is one of the worst I've ever seen at any IT company. Within a year, you won't recognize anyone's faces anymore. They have a tendency to overhire and then do some major restructuring, of course, on the hush-hush. The only thing you notice is that the office is suddenly much more quiet. While Lixar did have an exciting R&D and Product labs, those all got killed in favour of Professional Services. Most of the ideas come from Marketing and the CEO simply based on how impressive they sound rather than do market research and getting some sales pitches first, no one is surprised that these products fail. Due to the many failures, the product divisions no longer exist. Career development is the weakest part at Lixar. Good luck moving up the ladder and changing your title as you progress through your career. What you signed on paper is your label forever. No training, no senior peers, nothing, you work just what you're asked to do. While my pay was acceptable, many opened up to me with what they were compensated with, and it's atrocious. Some are paid just above minimum wage. Unless you're a director then you'll get your six figures. Otherwise, even the most talented of seniors won't go beyond 80k$. One unnamed member told me in clear words that Lixar does not pay market rate.
