Pros
- Handled covid and remote work really well! Full remote, flex in office, or whatever works for you.
- Hard technical problems. Truly unique scale.
- Good people. Smart and passionate, but also easy going and low ego. Makes every day a pleasure.
- Great engineering culture. Focus on growth, innovation, best practices, etc.
- Personal growth opportunities. I've had a new role every year or two and there are constantly new challenges to take on.
- Real ownership of a massive scale system. We have the petabyte scale of a huge company, but are small enough to own a much larger chunk of that system.
- All the basics are great - Good pay, benefits, work-life balance, coding practices, career ladder, feedback and growth.
Cons
- Our resourcing doesn't match our ambitions yet. We're hiring aggressively to go after more opportunities, but we all know how hard hiring is right now!
- Still in the process of shifting to be a real product driven organization. Need to continue to push for this.
