*The majority of students are lovely, they really appreciate having a foreign teacher.
*Fantastic foreign affairs staff- kind, friendly , supportive and professional
*No pollution plus a nice apartment inside the school
* No control over teachers' time and activities outside ordinary teaching hours
* A much lower cost of living than in some bigger cities nearby
Cons
*Chinese co-teachers are usually unhelpful and unfriendly
* Very small salary and no increase if you stay longer term
* Non-English major students ofen don't turn up to classes and don't care about learning anything
*Poor or no communication with the departments
*Language barrier issues, e.g. being asked to deal with Chinese paperwork without any assistance
* Although the locals are very welcoming, life in Lishui can get dull and the foreign teachers can be cliquey.
