There are so many things to say here. But the most striking one is that the corporation is not ready for the future. Since internal combustion engine is going to be extinct, there should be innovation to keep up to date for the industry trend and to be competitive. There is innovation hub and The Centre which were funded by government’s innovation fund and corporation’s investment but there is no any innovative solution or outcome which will lead the corporation in the market. The executive team is willing to do anything to carry the company to the future but There is director level , mid level or front line management who understands new technology, etc. I think Linamar lost that chance since all companies invested on STEM , Linamar continued working on traditional industry trends such as machining automotive components since everything would be disrupted. Starting to work on electrical engines or battery technologies would have been wise choose since software/autonomous side of the automotive business requires very high level talents and the years of experience for development .
