Pros
I applied to work at LifeStream because I wanted to help manifest change alongside people with substance abuse and mental health problems.
Cons
Minorities are targeted for poor treatment and the "clink" is more often than not based on one's race. Your knowledge, skills, abiities, and professionalism are worthless at LifeStream if you are not in the 'click." LifeStream is based almost entirely on a culture of unethical and unprofessional conduct. My supervisor could not provide me with a list of duties and responsibilities although I requested such guidelines twice in writing and twice during supervision sessions. The supervisor kept referring me to a non-supervisor who advised me that no such list of duties existed. I was told that they just do things as they come which I found very confusing and unusual because insurance companies always required treatment plans that are based on established guidelines and evidence-based industry standards. If there are no duties and responsibilities that reflect evidence-based standards it is difficult to provide appropriate care and no accountability standards for the employee to achieve.
