Pros
Decent pay, decent colleagues, Sometimes there was cake.
Cons
Where do I start? So basically, if you’re full time you’ll work 12 hours shifts. They literally give you the minimum break of 40 minutes on a 12 hour shift. The rest of the time you’re sat staring at a computer screen and talking to people none stop. Management strut about the office, and come and go as they please and are virtually unapproachable. They often look down their noses at any employee that’s outside their little ‘clique’. If you suffer from depression or at least don’t want to suffer from it, then do not apply for a job here. 12 hour shifts of doing nothing but talking to people about their funeral arrangements and passing messages back and forth between funeral directors and clients. You are constantly dealing with death. There’s definitely a peking order at Lemon in my opinion. Starting at the top with the FAMILY that own the business. Being sat in the office for 12 hours a day 4 times a week, I picked up a lot of things. Rarely see management do any work. My mental health hit an all time low working at this place and that’s coming from a very strong minded person. I felt like I was treat like a robot. I ended up getting quite ill because of this job, and had to take some days off. They didn’t care about the state of my mental health, they only cared that they were short staffed on days I couldn’t bring myself to go in. If your calling in life is to work in a glorified call centre, and you enjoy brown nosing, 12 hours shifts with a break not even long enough to allow yourself to breathe, and being looked down upon like your some sort of minority then this is the perfect place for you. All of the above is my own honest opinion having worked here plus the fact that this is a review, so just thought I’d note that incase they tried to sue me for libel or something. Since leaving last year my mental health is in top shape, and I’m now getting a degree in journalism (hence why I know that I can publish this review with no consequences). Leaving this company was the best thing I ever did.
