Pros

Schedule flexibility Lesson plans are provided but their quality is sometimes questionable

Cons

Almost everything. Their work environment is terrible. The support team treats you like a robot not even bothering to call you by your name. To them, everyone is "teacher". I know of many teachers who have had technical issues during lessons. They get zero support and then sometimes even get penalized for these issues. Pay rates have been slashed like crazy. If you are looking for a company where you earn less and less each year then this is the perfect place. They also don't always give bonuses where they say they will and almost look for any reason to not pay you your full salary. Disputes on salaries also take weeks and you are often left with zero replies. For a school that charges parents upwards of $15 USD per 45 minute lesson the pay that teachers get is atrocious. English-speaking teachers earn maybe $6-$9 per lesson, have to pay a huge amount of tax (20%), and the teachers also have to pay the full transfer which can be very expensive ($50 or more). You also don't get your salary paid to you unless it is more than X amount. So some months you might not even get your money. I've also found that their lesson plans can be very out of touch with what students want to/need to be learning. They also have frequent spelling or grammar mistakes and many of the older students didn't seem to enjoy the childish nature of the slides. The slides for the youngest students are also strange - They expect a beginner 5-year-old student to remember words like banjo, harpoon, space shuttle etc. When I started working for Kyna it was a dream come true. A lovely company that made me proud to be a teacher. Now it's a sad shell of what I remember it to be and I haven't spoken to a single happy teacher who truly loves working there in over a year. It feels like it's become a greedy corporation that treats teachers like expendable cogs in its mass teaching machine. I think they will suffer long term for this as your teachers are the backbone of your company. Treat them wrong and you are doomed.

Pros

- Flexible Scheduling - Vietnamese are generally more well-behaved and have stronger English skills than mainland Chinese students - Expanding Market Potential: Recently added Thai students - Ability to decline students you don't want to teach - No parent evaluations (that I'm aware of)

Cons

- TERRIBLE Platform Issues: Their web-based app is a homegrown headache - Phone App is also problematic and error-prone - SUPER LOW pay: $7 USD + $1 for "completed" classes for Native Teachers with advanced degrees - POOR Service: Firemans are sporadic in platforms; poor service level for teachers; frequent accounting errors in pay -10% Income Tax (no other Vietnamese Teaching Company charges this for foreign teachers/highly suspect)
