Pros

Great people, weekly food perks, beautiful office. Good place to start for entry level employees looking for experience.

Cons

Compensation is around 15-20% below market rate for similar roles if not less. High workload due to lack of experienced SMEs, low capacity in engineering since it’s difficult to hire experienced developers. Leadership lacks the ability to say no to customers and ensures a constant inflow of projects that overwhelms their engineering teams as well. Subsequently, due to low compensation there is a lack of senior developers and experienced people don’t stay very long. Previously allowed remote work two days a week but has reduced it to one. Expensive parking with a busy commute downtown. Huge disconnect between leadership and workers, lack of realism or understanding about what it takes to create a quality product. Many projects are typically half baked and rushed out the door unfinished/broken or is forgotten about in a year due to churn.

Pros

Autonomy Growth focused environment Unlimited PTO Direct access to VP and Executive Level CEO is amazing, human, and has a strong moral compass

Cons

The only reason I’d list this as a con is because not everyone is wired for the stage Kipsu is in right now. It’s a vibrant company with real momentum, moving from a startup/mid-sized business into a stronger mid-market and enterprise position. That kind of growth naturally brings a lot of process optimization, shifting priorities, and the need to adapt quickly. Personally, I see that as an exciting opportunity to help build and shape the vertical, though others may find the pace and constant change less comfortable. There’s a ton of growth and development for those that want it.

Cons

-Micro-management in product development, resulting in poor downstream morale with delivery teams and a lack of motivation/innovation within the product team itself -Pay is significantly below market for key roles -Leadership's view of growth opportunities provided does not match the reality felt by team members -Middle management has few actual leaders
