Pros
Flexible work Really lovely coworkers
Cons
Many of the most supportive and best equipped managers have left or are leaving. This has had and continues to have, a large impact on company culture. Many of these managers spent much of their role shielding staff from poor and often aggressive leadership by providing advice and support to solve problems. The C Suite has made no accommodations because of this and continue with their poor behavior. Staff are treated as independent contractors and are no given employment rights or perks. This also means working hours are determined by what work there is for you, or how your manager decides to fill your time. With many managers leaving, the C Suite have not made any effort to ensure staff are properly supported or given enough hours leading to managers in other teams to step in and help ensure people can meet hours The cracks have already started to show with some projects and teams paused and more looking like they will follow. Staff are afraid to speak up about issues over fears of repercussions. The company does not operate using a standard HR system or other reasonable accommodations and protections or staff. As a result, it is common for staff to get shouted at and treated poorly by C Suite staff without any means of recourse. The company used to be incredibly nice to work at but slowly that has all been chipped away
