Pros
• Hierarchy structure is flat. • Project related departments use the state of the art technologies so as to ensure the project works are carried out with precision. • High and mid-level management are readily approachable. • Had no issues with the salary. It was credited by 5th of every month without delay. • Emphasis on recreational activities like Star Performer Award (Quarterly), New joinee Induction program, Project Site tours for the new joinees, Annual Day celebration etc. • Admin department takes good initiatives and keeps the teams engaged. • Inter-company cricket, football & other games give a chance for employees to interact with the peer company employees.
Cons
• Mission & Vision Statement mentions the importance of innovation & creativity. Yet when it is showcased by a junior level employee, it is discarded without second thought. • HR Policies are a JOKE! : HR Policy manual states probation for all employees is 6 months. Yet in the year 2018-19, probation for few employees were extended to 1 year. It is an irony because when they joined the company, the appointment letter handed to them clearly stated that probation period will be for 6 months only. After completion of 6 months, when they asked for confirmation assessment form, it was told that their confirmation will be done after 1 year because apparently ‘ALL THE COMPANIES IN THE MARKET’ follow a 1 year probation rule for the position and stating that it was a mistake, they were handed a separate sheet wherein it was stated the probation period was for 1 year. Which would have been fine had there been a policy for the same. But apparently, there was none. If anyone reads this, kindly cross verify if there was a policy of probation period being 1 year for any level of employee in the year 2018-19. • Every fresher is expected to perform as per the expectations of the top management but nobody cares to train them/ teach them/ guide them/ motivate them/ inculcate company values in them. • Corporate Snakes are everywhere: When a middle/high level manager needs help, he/she won’t think twice before asking the subordinates to do it. When the same subordinate is in dire need of help, the seniors decline with a smile because helping them is ‘NOT A PART OF THEIR KRAs' & KPIs’. • NEPOTISM runs high in the company. Some Head of Departments haven’t served a single day working in the department are made the HOD. • Performance Appraisal: If a financial year ends by March 31st, the employee expects the appraisal to be completed by May end (to say the least). But here, appraisals take a minimum of 6 months: or more. Kindly refer to the appraisal of the year 2018-19 which was completed by October.
