Pros
- You have the ability to work any case from start to finish without having to pass it off to an investigations unit. - You get to pave your own path at the department by being able to find LE courses and the administrative staff are generally supportive - The university allows families of employees 7 credit hours and employees 3 credit hours of classes per semester and the department is supportive of officers taking university classes.
Cons
- The pay has been behind, but the administration has taken large steps to bring it up to par with other departments.
