Pros

KMR Communications is a great agency with an incredible hold on its niche. I worked there for several years and still draw upon that experience today. You work closely with the founder and she provides valueable mentorship.

Cons

It's a boutique agency so be ready to work and learn about all the processes of account management, reporting, and also the work of media relations and content writing. That may feel like a lot of hats, but it is incredibly helpful to learn so much from one position.

Pros

This internship was the best thing I ever immersed myself in to get ahead in my career. Kathy is an incredible boss - willing to work with you, answer any questions with knowledge and care, and goes out of her way to teach you things about PR in the real world. I was so sad when this internship ended. Great, positive office environment as well!

Cons

Wish I could have worked more hours per week

Pros

Worked here during the summer and it was the best internship experience I have ever had. All of the publicists were very open to answering any kind of questions I had and the CEO herself sat down with me to teach me how to work with programs they use and how to do any of the tasks I was assigned. They always treated me like someone who was there to learn and gain experience and never made me do any tasks that weren't for my benefit like watering plants and going on coffee runs. I'm sad the summer came to an end because the experience was really wonderful and the people who work at KMR really know what they are doing. I feel like I learned so much about things they just can't teach you in a classroom. They even let me sit in on client meetings and handle important tasks on a daily basis. The company feel is like a family and they are very welcoming to new people!

Cons

Like most Communications internships it is unpaid but you have the option to take it for credit and they also provide you with a biweekly stipend which really adds up! Not only that, but they also pay for your parking so unlike a lot of internships you don't lose money by being in it. I found it was definitely better than what a lot other internships provide.
