Remote work and good colleagues overshadow poor and unethical leadership - Client Success Manager KENTECH Consulting Employee Review

Pros

Remote Work, Colleagues, and Clients.

Cons

Leadership remains a significant concern. Senior leadership often appears focused on securing new business and making commitments that the organization struggles to deliver operationally. As a result, teams are frequently left managing expectations that were established without sufficient planning, resources, or execution strategy. Operational decision-making can be highly centralized and heavily reliant on micromanagement, while at times lacking a practical understanding of the day-to-day challenges employees and clients face. This creates confusion, inconsistent priorities, and frequent shifts in direction. Employees are often expected to adapt to changing expectations without clear communication or adequate support. Employee relations and human resources functions are often perceived as aligned primarily with leadership priorities rather than serving as an independent resource for employees. Concerns raised by staff may receive limited consideration when they conflict with organizational objectives. The company also launched an internal initiative encouraging employees to post positive Glassdoor reviews. While employees are free to share their experiences, efforts to actively influence online ratings can create the perception that leadership is more focused on managing public image than addressing the underlying issues employees raise. Prospective employees should carefully review both positive and negative feedback, look for recurring themes over time, and ask detailed questions during the interview process regarding leadership style, communication practices, turnover, workload expectations, and overall company culture.

Pros

Remote/Flexible and Coworkers..... no additional pros

Cons

Most of the cons have already been noted in previous posts, so I will elaborate on some of the points made: • Gaslighting and broken promises: Leadership often signals empathy and makes commitments that aren’t followed through. Roles are oversold during the hiring process. • Favoritism: Personal relationships appear to drive special treatment and opportunities. • Compensation: Pay is well below market for the workload and stress level. • Workload: Constant influx of new contracts (often biweekly) without additional staffing. • Management: Leads and managers frequently defer basic questions to subordinates and share inappropriate information (e.g. terminations and employee health details), which feels unprofessional and undermines trust. • Lack of guidance: Employees are expected to solve complex tasks with little direction or support. Bottom line: Between the heavy workload, low pay, and management issues, I would not recommend working at Kentech Consulting.
