Pros

The people and size of the company make it a fun place to work.

Cons

Wish the healthcare benefits were more affordable but I really think this is an issue for all companies.

Pros

Fair pay for work, clear promotion and raise structure, great benefits, inexpensive, quality healthcare, beautiful campus, internal mobility, great internal company benefits, relatively stable industry

Cons

Paid time off — you start out with 3 weeks PTO but that is both for your vacation AND your sick days so I find myself working even when I’m extremely sick. Also you don’t get Christmas Eve or New Years Eve off! Most people don’t work those day anyway since there is not much to do, but unless you take PTO, you are on the hook if something happens. This is the nature of being healthcare adjacent, but I think they should offer floating holidays or just offer more PTO flat out. PTO is better than something like Home Depot (which only gives you two weeks to start and it takes 5 years to earn the third) but still is stricter than I would prefer. Private company made up of different sub companies so culture and work life balance can vary team to team. I work for Inlightened (which is fully remote) so work life balance is probably better than the average employee on campus for example. Can’t speak for the other companies within Jackson but I’ve had a really awesome experience.

Pros

Coworkers, healthy food offerings in the cafeteria (though overpriced), multiple food options on their campuses.

Cons

Terrible training, onboarding, and communication styles. Not a tech environment, old school ways of doing things. Employees who have been there for decades, not trying to innovate or work efficiently, really just there for the childcare onsite and work/life balance. Not many growth opportunities, unless someone quits or gets let go. I think this could also speak to how they aren't doing very well - they just had a layoff of engineers and I'm sure campaigning isn't helping either.
