Pros
- A very easy way in to Financial Services roles - JDX employees have a reasonably good reputation with recruiters (plenty of approaches and options). - Easy to get promoted for the wrong reasons. - You will meet some great people.
Cons
- Disgusting, shallow and sexist approach to recruitment. - New employees on the bench are FORCED to submit positive Glassdoor reviews and provide links as evidence so they are no longer anonymous. (This is often periodic and actioned in the wake of negative reviews - see how quickly this review gets buried by 15 positive reviews which will site 'great culture', 'fun' and 'x factor'). - President demonstrates unstable behavior and is regularly rude and abusive towards both junior and senior members of staff. - Recently, projects are more often than not just grunt work, which could be undertaken by a 15 year on work experience (and on occasion is!). - Using ctrl+F to find relevant information on a document and entering it into a spreadsheet is not consulting (sometimes it would be more beneficial for JDX to decline these types of projects!). - The current crop of 'prodigy35' consultants (hand picked by the CEO and President), happen to be the ones who stay out latest on socials, this is a drinking and social culture and not the meritocracy which it is claimed to be..! - Salary is on average 20% below industry standard. - 20 days holiday a year is extremely poor, and it will often be cancelled at extremely short notice. - A number of senior staff members have highly inappropriate relationships with junior staff members. - Bonuses are nowhere near what is suggested, even for high performers. - The 'Bench' is run by a former school teacher (who is brilliant), however benched consultants are often treated like school children/ - Employees not trusted to work from home, regardless of level and regardless if their client requires them to. - Standard of training (JDX's 'USP') is generally very poor. - Appraisal feedback is often sketchy at best, with little or no effort made by performance managers to obtain client feedback. - Consultants places on demanding projects away from the head office location will be marked down for 'not showing their face in head office enough', Consultants regularly on the bench with low billability will be recognised for contributing tons around the office. - Little or no input on which projects you are placed on.
