Pros

If you like getting paid for doing nothing and being bored for 90% of your work day, then this is the place for you. The Project Manager was really great, but left for a better opportunity. Can’t blame them for not sticking around.

Cons

Amateur hour is the term for this place. They tend to celebrate victories before a battle is won. There is an epidemic of insecurity with upper leadership, which only causes problems. Instead of allowing managers to shine and congratulating them on a good job, they find and highlight their mistakes instead. Anyone who does a great job is reprimanded by old mistakes or any errors are brought up instead, sometimes deadlines are shortened in spite. Being good at ones job, only triggers upper management insecurity. Constant micro managing of the staff, Operations Management cannot trust in their staff to do the job they have been hired to do. There is a consistent negative office culture. It is an “I am your boss, and you are less than me” way of leading. Upper Management is arrogant towards everyone below them, they speak to everyone is always arrogant and condescending. Being spoken down to even when you are doing a good job. Also camaraderie and inner office friendships are frowned upon. Having a non-work (i.e. outside interests, family, etc) conversation can result in moving up a deadline from next week to next day, because, “you had time to talk”. There is also a “FIRE and not teach” method of management. Simple fixes like a revert button to help when we proofread in their program was rejected because firing the person who made the simple mistake makes more sense. They also constantly say, “work is about to pick up” and it never will. They act as if they are already the best in the business, and will not and cannot build the professional relationships and reputation to warrant the near arrogance the company has. They also constantly talk about opportunity in the company, but there are none. Once you reach project management level, there is nowhere to go, unless you want to move to another country. Upper Management is all but useless. Financing and human resources is a complete joke. They use antiquated and insufficient methods for project tracking and invoicing freelancers. Excel/Google sheets is great for lists, but not a good method for professional project tracking and billing. There are too many possibilities for mistakes and they will not change this methodology. The guise themselves as successful but don’t do actions or make choices that would make them successful. Don’t trust them, don’t work for them. Walk away. Trust what everyone here is saying. DO NOT TAKE THE JOB.

Pros

At the beginning, I had stable work and didn’t have to worry about making ends meet. Iyuno was enough as my main income, and I could live comfortably.

Cons

Over time, my workload was gradually reduced without any explanation, despite having five years of experience and consistently high-quality work. I was effectively replaced by new translators while being kept in the dark. This has left me uncertain about my future, and unfortunately, I can no longer rely on Iyuno as a primary source of income. After years of dedication and turning down other opportunities to stay loyal, this outcome is very disappointing.
