Pros
I worked with some lovely people who had my back, but I know not every department was like this. We were most likely the youngest department, which meant I fit in pretty well. We also were encouraged to take time off when needed, and got time to flex off if we had to stay late for an event. I felt myself getting better and better at my job, which resulted in feeling much more comfortable at work. I eventually got to take some virtual days each week. We started with one per week year-round, and starting in March we got two through the summer. This was my first job where I received benefits, so that was nice. Though it sounds like there is little future when it comes to raises or bonuses.
Cons
I have to agree with many other reviews on here. These jobs are underpaid and overworked at times. Just when our department started getting some work removed from our plates, they started the lay-offs (April 2024). Many were victim of said lay-offs, and they were brutal. I see the campus going downhill from here. We don’t feel valued anymore, and several people are resigning. Hopefully for my colleagues the culture improves soon, but I doubt it. Another person I know was terminated after enduring constant bullying from another employee. Their supervisor enabled this behavior and then fired them for it. While there were many things I enjoyed at this establishment, I find it hard to recommend anyone look for employment here.
