Pros

I’m fortunate enough to have an amazing manager where I have the freedom to work autonomously and learn on my own accordance without being micro managed or patronised, but also have plenty of support and encouragement when required. Hours are great – it’s very common to leave the office by 5-5:30pm which can’t be said about most Agency’s or Production Houses.

Cons

Client is a little tough to deal with as they don’t fully understand the creative/production processes which translates to them having unrealistic expectations for projects, deadlines and budgets. There also seems to be too many decision makers on their end (and also internally within the agency) which greatly slows things down, making it hard to stick to production timelines and budget estimates. Innocean’s finance department also struggles to understand a lot of the creative/production processes making it hard to get vendors paid on time which in turn compromises your relationships with suppliers, and affects future projects down the line. Their lack of understanding of processes also results in an incredibly tedious approval process when trying to get estimates over the line to commence work.

Pros

I’ve had a really positive experience working with the UX team at Innocean. It’s a collaborative, thoughtful team that genuinely cares about the quality of the work and about supporting each other. One of the biggest strengths of the team is the leadership. The UX Director sets a clear vision for user-centered design, process, standards, while also creating a supportive environment where UX designers can grow, experiment, and have a voice in the process. There’s a strong emphasis on collaboration within the group which makes the work feel impactful and connected. The UX team is talented, kind, hard working, and highly engaged. People are willing to help each other, share knowledge, and step in when needed. There’s also a healthy balance between strategic thinking and execution — designers aren’t just pushing pixels; they’re involved in problem framing, research, and shaping solutions. Another standout is the scale of the work. You get to work on high-visibility digital experiences, and there’s continuous improvements in design systems, processes, and research. Like any agency environment, priorities can shift quickly, but the UX team does a great job staying focused on delivering thoughtful, user-driven solutions. Overall, it’s a great place to grow as a UX designer and to work alongside smart, collaborative people who care about the craft and a manager that cares about people. Pros: Supportive UX leadership and clear vision, process, expectations Collaborative team culture Meaningful, high-impact work Opportunity to grow skills across research, strategy, and systems

Cons

Cons: Agency pace can be fast at times, but the team works hard to support each other

Pros

Great location with oceanfront view.

Cons

My experience at Innocean was disappointing overall. Leadership felt inconsistent, and opportunities and visibility did not always seem distributed in a transparent or merit-based way, which made it difficult to navigate the organization effectively. There appeared to be a noticeable internal preference toward certain groups within the company, particularly within the finance team, where this dynamic felt especially prominent. At times, this made collaboration and advancement feel uneven depending on your background or network. Mentorship was limited, with little structured support for professional development. Combined with unclear paths for advancement, upward mobility felt constrained. For those seeking a more transparent, growth-oriented environment with consistent leadership and mentorship, this is not the right fit. Very toxic environment.
