Pros

Company mission…I guess. Nothing outstanding from the usual benefits received at many other companies.

Cons

Incompetent (and either clueless or simply disinterested) senior management, disgusting office politics, co-signing bad behaviour (plenty ‘bad apples’ around), shameless favouritism, disingenuous and toxic workplace culture/relationships (gets in the way of actual work), shady (and spineless) HR practices (no surprise there), lack of equal opportunities…I could go on. A great place for your career potential and confidence to die unless you become one of the ‘lucky’ few favoured. It’s also a great place to get screwed over for the benefit of the ‘lucky’ few, so don’t count on being a neutral employee as a safe bet. Truly a shame…but they (those with the power to make changes) don’t care. So, if you can’t ‘fake it till you make it’, not planning to stay and grow (irrespective of how long), or simply trying to bulk up your CV - save yourself the trip - it’s an underwhelming experience. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

Pros

Great science. Many people motivated to help patients.

Cons

Toxic culture and leadership that demands much of your life while providing no/little recognition or compensation. They seem to be squandering a promising pipeline, hanging everything on one medication that has likely reached its peak. Understand the sacrifices you’ll be making should you choose to join.
