Pros
A lot of the reviews have mentioned the people of Ignite Social Media that make it so great. This is absolutely true. I've never worked anywhere that I truly made friends with coworkers that I spent so much time socializing with outside of work. This makes coming to work a good thing as it's nice to walk in the office and look forward to saying hi to everyone. It also makes working along side them that much better and there's a much stronger team effort as a result. The benefits are also quite ample, complete with unlimited vacation, flexible work schedules and a casual work environment. Despite what some others have said, complaining about executives, I feel the people running the company and in particular Jim Tobin, are doing a solid job. Nobody is perfect and no executive team is flawless. Too many young people expect too much and too many young people assume they could do better. I work for people I trust and the level of transparency by the executive team is second to none and very much appreciated. This makes working for Ignite Social Media feel a lot more like we are sitting at a round table rather than a long table with the CEO sitting at the head of the table.
Cons
It's agency life. This is good and bad. There are crazy busy times balanced by slower times. However the company tries to keep people open to branching out and during these slow times people can contribute blog posts or take part in brainstorms or strategy meetings if they choose to do so. The biggest con of agency life is when business is good, its good, but when a client leaves jobs suffer. There's also a bit of immaturity by some of the younger employees who just don't realize a good thing when they have it and many expect to get promoted to some kind of manager type level having only a couple years' experience under their belts.
