Pros

Casual dress, Health benefits, and the occasional free coffee in the lunch area.

Cons

Working at this company has been a challenging experience due to several organizational shortcomings and management issues. The lack of structure creates a disorganized work environment, making it difficult to efficiently carry out tasks. The employment situation is unstable, with employees hired and fired abruptly without prior warning or clear communication. The work conditions further compound the dissatisfaction. Offering only 30 minutes for an unpaid lunch break is insufficient, leaving little time for employees to relax and recharge. The lack of care for employees is evident, particularly in the owner's seeming disinterest and apparent favoritism towards those who speak Polish. This favoritism fosters an unhealthy work culture, with instances of backbiting and an unfair advantage for certain individuals. The owner's impatience and quick judgment contribute to a stressful work atmosphere. The minimal training provided exacerbates this issue, leaving employees feeling ill-equipped for their roles. The compensation is subpar, and securing even a small raise becomes a challenging battle. The hourly pay structure, coupled with unpaid holidays, significantly impacts income, particularly during the holiday season. Moreover, the limited number of days off and a cramped, unclean lunch area further detract from the overall work experience. The absence of appreciation for employees and the lack of air conditioning or heating in the office reflect a disregard for the well-being and comfort of the workforce. In summary, the numerous issues mentioned paint a picture of an unsatisfactory work environment. The company's disorganization, inadequate treatment of employees, and poor working conditions highlight a need for significant improvements to foster a healthier and more supportive workplace.

Pros

People work there is pretty clever and they are eager to help new co-workers. When I encountered some difficulty they will be patient to help me find the wrong place and that made me learn many things.

Cons

I think contract workers

Pros

The hiring process was easy, and the required word count on posts for freelance writers was low.

Cons

I wrote posts for this company, and the struggle was real, guys! My pay was late more than once, and when I asked why certain articles hadn't been included on my week's payment, no one bothered to explain it to me. They just said that I'd get paid for them the following week, like I'd get the money when they were good and ready to give it to me. They're ridiculous about what photos they want you to use in that they seem to hate stock photos, but realistically, who has personal photos of 3-5 home decor projects per week that they can submit? Then they insist they don't want posts written around stock photos, though the only way to write these without having the personal photos (which, again, would be asking A LOT) is to look online for what's available and write around it. If you don't hit the mark, you might be publicly ridiculed for any member of the company to see, and you might get lucky enough to get fired in the same public manner for these grievances. I'm not kidding. Rather than email you personally and tell you that they're ending the contract, they're not above posting the message that's addressed TO YOU on the company website. I've worked for a number of companies doing freelance work without EVER coming across one as rude, condescending, and unprofessional. Save yourself the headache, and find a different writing opportunity. Hopefully, this company will go under soon for treating its workers so poorly.

This former writer's attitude and inability to follow directions or accept constructive criticism without griping was not conducive toward a healthy working relationship.
