recently had a frustrating experience trying to pick up some online tuition work. I was approached to teach 10th-grade CBSE Maths to four students. Everything sounded professional until they asked for a ₹2500 'activation fee' upfront, promising a 50% advance on fees once classes started.
After I paid, the tone completely changed. Not only did they not activate my account, but they also started asking for more money. When I pushed back and asked for the demo class they promised, they told me nothing is guaranteed and I basically have to find my own leads. When I asked for a refund, they just stopped taking my calls. It feels like a total trap for teachers looking for extra income.
