Pros

There were legitimate good parts of the job. The benefits are actually very good. You get much more PTO than almost all entry level positions and it increases very quickly. You were able to drive around pretty often in new cars. You got to see compare different models on a daily basis. Depending on your office you were able to have some freedom to make important decisions. Mos of the regular customers were great and it was nice to build relationships with them. You learn a lot about sales, management, marketing, customer service, and a bunch of different important job skills.

Cons

NOBODY is happy working for Hertz. Every person you talk to is biding their time until they can find a better job. This is because they pay well below the amount of work you are expected to put in. The hours suck. You will be required to be in early, stay late, and work weekends. You will hear a lot from management when you are not performing up to their often unreasonable standards, but rarely ever hear any kind of praise. In every role, all the way up through high level management, all anyone cares about it sales numbers. There are locations that are inherently much more difficult to sell in and there is no consideration of that in performance reviews. The cars themselves wear down very quickly and put the workers in a daily situation where there are justifiably angry customers with no good resolution available. What you find, is that the company culture leads to the worst employees staying and the best leaving quickly. This is not a good way to do business.

Pros

No micromagement , You earn incentives when customers forget to fill the gas , also when the car was damaged and they accept to pay , managers are nice , deal with Karen and difficult customers sometimes , rush hours where there is no room for cars but it is worth it

Cons

Fluctuate schedule you might work middle shift today , tomorrow you work early morning shift like 5AM and next day you work closing shift 1 to 9 PM. It is just bad for me because I just experienced personal household problem so I have only one car in the household so I had to leave

Pros

It is possible to make a difference if you are determined enough. Many engineers work hard and most try.

Cons

The company has a ton of tech debt that it recognized, but is not being addressed. Management controls the time, scope and so quality is falling. The people they have hired lack fundamentals understanding of software development practices. The company often will make decisions to save small amounts of money with their facilities and tools they give to employees without understanding the opportunity cost that was lost. Overtime is required. You can't work here if you want to have a family or keep your family from hating you. Title inflation is real. Many people are actually performing one level down from their stated title and those that are not are only not failing due to putting in crazy hours. Middle management wont stickup for their people to ensure they are not burning out. They see it happening multiple times in front of them and they do nothing.
