The business has been strongly impacted by COVID-19. Those impacts did not lead to layoffs but have meant 401(k) matching and compensation adjustments were put on pause. Position eliminations (for open job listings) have also left my team indefinitely smaller and forced us to push back the delivery of helpful features in our applications.
As the company grows it's hard to keep tabs on everything that is happening. This is probably an expected part of growing quickly but we're not immune to it. Increasing team specialization feels like it leaves less room for cross-discipline pollination.
The business path to profitability feels less sure than it did at the beginning of the year. I'm not sure if this is completely due to COVID-19, in fact, my feeling is that it's not. Sales updates are generally positive but it feels like the same kinds of sales activities we have performed in the past are falling short. That said, this could be off as this is not my area of expertise.
